If he cares so little about it that he would consider scrapping it, then why would anyone want to buy it from him?
If he leaves his project uncovered in the rain to rot, then that is going to cause a lot of people questioning the work that went into it. The lack of a title isn't going to move it either.
Realistically, its a clapped out MGB with a questionable history and questionable body-work and that isn't going to be worth much more than scrap value.

Reading: not your strong suit.
It's in storage. The previous owner left it outside. In this state and the states surrounding it, you don't need a title for a car that old.
Also, kindly go sit on a shifter.

If it was Georgia the state, and not the city, I would be all over it. $500? I could find something fun to do with it.

V8 swap. All day long.

V8 all the things! I'd maybe go with a Miata motor. Bound to be a kit for that I have friends with MGs. I'm sure they could point me in a good direction.

It sure looks like it is outside the pictures, unless these pictures are out of date. If that's the case, who knows how much it has deteriorated since it has been in Georgia?
If you like it, then buy it and don't try to sell other people's crap for them.
I didn't bother to read the whole ad; nobody cares about someone else's shit on Craigslist.

You should find out what shipping to Georgia would be.

That is evil talk right there.

I'd hate to be your friend if that's your attitude, besides the fact you seem to be a shameless asshole. If you don't feel like you should help a friend when you can, your two friends are probably very hurt.
The fact is, the MGB is a car people are interested in, and this one is unique, regardless of your feelings on the ad. This is a forum for cars (surprised?) and if people are interested in the car, I don't see the problem.
Enjoy your shifter.

Damn that's a good looking car.

There is a difference between sharing an interesting find and trying to help someone sell junk.
"This is an interesting widebody MGB on CL" is more appropriate than "please buy this dude's shitheap."
If your friend is having difficulty selling it, then give him some suggestions on local classifieds where he could list it rather than advertising it for him.
The fact is, this a forum for cars; not a marketplace for cars (surprised?)

Ah, how kind of you to tell me how to use this forum, guy I've never seen use this forum before.
I can see
now
that
no
one
has ever tried to sell their (or their friend's) car here. I was wrong. (Oh shit, how did those links get there?)
Show me your shithea
d
p and I might even try to help you sell it.

Thanks but no thanks.
Most of those links are someone listing their personal vehicle. If they think that they can send their car off to a good home by posting it Oppo, then that's fine by me. Let them.
My dissaproval is of people listing their friends' stuff. If you think it is an interesting car, then share it because it is an interesting car; not because you want someone to buy it.
If you want a car to go a good home, then say so, but don't bother people by begging them to buy one that has never had a good home and likely never will.

And seeing as how you feel the need to push your convoluted, made up, complete bullshit rules on me, have a gander at the
actual god damn rules.
As far as I can see, you're in violation of the first two rules (and number three, but number three doesn't have the same punch as those first two).
Here
, however, is a place where you can come up with whatever rules you want!
And, while we're here, a gift:

Not trying to force my opinion any more than you are trying force buying junk on others.
Case in point; If you like this car, then buy it. I see no reason to get so defensive when someone questions the value of a car that is not even yours. In case you don't remember, my original post was about the car itself and questioned why anyone would want to buy the damn thing.
You then said "Reading: not your stong suit," which might be in violation of rule number one. You also told me to sit on a shifter, although you said it kindly, so I'm not sure about that one. Everything regarding the operation of this site has been brought up by you (and ironically violated by you too); I, for one, was speaking for myself when I said that I didn't want to see other people's shit for sale.
